It’s that time of the year again when you start preparing yummy feasts that you will serve to your loved ones and guests. So, here are some interesting and easy to cook sweets that you can try this festival season.

1. Eggless Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients
This sweet is a permanent solution to having a dessert being the egg one or

  • Milk chocolate or dark chocolate
  • Golden syrup
  • Rum (if you prefer)
  • Any fruit juice or water
  • Fresh cream and garnish as per your liking

Recipe

  • You can start the cooking by melting the chocolate, golden syrup and rum together in a double boiler till you get a smooth mixture
  • Keep aside the mousse for cooling
  • Second step is to, whip the cream till you get soft peaks
  • Then in the chocolate mixture, fold the cream gently
  • When you get an even mousse mixture, pour it in a bowl or glass

But, remember the mousse needs to be refrigerated for 4-6 hours and add the garnish (optional) before you serve it.

2. Seviyan Kheer

  • Seviyan Kheer also known as Vermicelli kheer is a must try. To make this Kheer, you need
  • Vermicelli/seviyan
  • Ghee/Clarified Butter
  • Green Cardamom Pods
  • Cloves
  • Roasted or Fried unsalted almonds and cashew nuts and
  • Sugar as per your preference

Recipe

  • In a pan heat ghee, and then add cloves and cardamom to it and fry them till they leave their aroma. After that, add vermicelli/seviyan and fry till they become golden brown
  • Then, add milk and let it come to a boil
  • Lastly, add sugar and let the milk simmer till the time Seviyan is cooked

3. Coconut Ladoo

Ingredients

  • To make this sweet at home, you would require
  • Desiccated coconut (unsweetened)
  • Organic unrefined cane or regular sugar and
  • Water
  • To add some taste, you can also include cardamoms, husked and powdered in a mortar-pestle.

Recipe

  • You can start the recipe by mixing sugar with water till the time it gets dissolved
  • Then on a low flame cook the sugar solution till the time it thickens
  • Once it is done keep the solution aside and add the dessicated coconut and cardamom powder to it
  • Stir the solution quickly and make balls from it
  • But, remember that ladoos need to be prepared when they are hot or warm

4. Eggless Banana Pancake

  • This is another vegetarian recipe, which needs
  • Over ripe or ripe bananas
  • Whole wheat flour
  • Crushed fennel or whole fennel seeds
  • Jaggery powder and
  • Oil as per the requirement

Recipe

  • Make a mixture of the bananas by peeling and mashing them
  • Next is to add jaggery powder as per the sweetness of the bananas, you can also add sugar instead of jaggery
  • Once it is mixed, add whole wheat flour and lightly crushed fennel seeds
  • Add water to the mixture depending on the quantity and quality of flour
  • Mix the batter well to make it smooth and without any lumps
  • In a nonstick pan, put ghee or butter, pour the batter and cook it on a low flame, drizzle some oil on the sides and the top and cook it till it gets golden and slightly crisp, then serve it hot
