While it is a famous saying that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach and thus a woman he marries should surely be a good cook. And following that, a woman cooks delicious food daily and it is hardly that she gets a holiday from her responsibilities. But, for a woman the real happiness is the man of her life cooking for her. And with International Women’s Day coming there is no better time to make her feel special and loved.

1. Yogurt Kebab

Now, who doesn’t love a spicy snack, especially when it is made with a delightful twist of Yogurt.

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Yogurt
  • Salt
  • Green Cardamom
  • Raisins
  • Almonds
  • Coriander Leaves
  • Ginger
  • Onion
  • Cornflour
  • Cottage Cheese
  • White Pepper
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Oats

Method
To make this enticing snack for her, you have to hang Yogurt overnight in a muslin cloth. After that, sauté the onion and ginger in minimum oil till the onions turns translucent and keep aside to cool. Now, take the yogurt in a bowl, add crumbled cottage cheese, chopped raisins, coriander almonds, and the onion mixture, then add white pepper powder, cardamom powder and salt to it. Next is to make round patties with this gooey mix and pat a bit of cornflour on the outside, after giving them shape. Crush the oats with resemblance to breadcrumbs and dredge patties in them. Grill them on a medium hot skillet in a pan greased with olive oil, till they turn brown and serve hot.

 

2. Achaar Ke Aloo

Ingredients

  • Potatoes
  • Onion
  • Vegetable Oil
  • Red Chilli
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Vinegar
  • Mustard Seeds
  • Sugar
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Onion Seeds

Method
To make this delectable dish you have to fry the hot potatoes in hot oil until golden and then set aside. Then, Fry Onions until golden brown in a pan with 4tbsp oil, add ginger, garlic, turmeric and chilli powder. Now, put the potatoes in the again with some water, cook for 5 minutes over a gentle flame, sprinkle in sugar and pour on vinegar. Now, take 2 tbsp in a separate pan, add red chillies, mustard, cumin, and nigella seeds. Stir and fry for 20 seconds and pour over cooked potatoes before serving.

 

3. Chicken Wings with Sweet Chilli Sauce

This crispy and lip-smacking deep fried chicken wings served with sweet chilli sauce will melt her heart with love.

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • All-purpose Flour
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Egg
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Honey
  • Paprika
  • Butter
  • Cream
  • Chives

Method
For seasoning, get some flour, salt and pepper, blend them and coat the chicken wings. Then, whisk an egg and dip the floured chicken wings in it. Next is to coat the chicken wings with the Panko bread crumbs completely & deep fry them for 4-5 minutes.

For Sweet Chilli Sauce, heat a pan, take hot sauce, honey, chilli flakes, Thai hot-chilli sauce, some water and butter. Bring it to a boil and cooking it on low simmer till the liquid turns into a thick consistency.

Now in a deep bowl take fried chicken wings, drizzle some sweet chilli sauce and toss it together. In a small cup, take sour cream, sprinkle some salt and pepper and garnish with chives. And it is ready to serve.

 

4. Hot Cointreau Scuffle

Now it’s time to dip in your taste buds in a sweet and delicate hot soufflé made with no flour, no milk and no butter.

  • Egg
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Essence
  • Butter

Method
Firstly, pre-heat the oven and butter the soufflé dish. The process starts with beating ¼ cup sugar with the yolks till light and fluffy and it should leave a trail. Now add the vanilla essence and Cointreau to keep aside. Next is to whisk egg whites with a pinch of a salt till soft peaks form and gradually add the remaining sugar. Fold in the whites to the yolk mixture, lightly and quickly. Place in a hot oven till well risen and pamper her taste buds.

 

5. The Affinities Cake

Cooking Time: 1 Hour

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • Almonds
  • Castor Sugar
  • Cocoa Sugar
  • Baking Soda
  • Salt
  • Olive Oil
  • Balsamic Vinegar
  • Vanilla Essence
  • Plum

Method
The process of making this lip-smacking Cake, preheat the Oven to 150-degree C. Start with oiling a 20 cm Cake tin, approx. 10 cm deep, line the bottom with some greaseproof paper. Take caution and do not use a spring fold tin with a loose bottom else your mixture will leak out. Then, sift the dry ingredients into a bowl and then make 3 holes with a spoon. After that put, Vanilla, vinegar, and oil into each hole and pour the prune juice on top and mix well. The result is a gentle volcanic reaction with bubbles rising to the surface. Then pour the batter into the cake tin and bake for 30-35 minutes. Next is to gently stick a skewer in the cake and it should come out clean and still be moist. Lastly, cool on a wire rack for couple of hours before serving.
